The Local Culture
Katuaq is Nuuk’s and Greenland’s main house of culture and was opened in 1997. Its purpose is to spread the knowledge of Nordic art and culture in Greenland, and Greenlandic art and culture in the North.
The is a wide selection of museums in Nuuk, including the Nuuk museum of Art and Greenland’s National Museum. The National Museum is located in the local allotment garden and has exhibitions on the history of Greenland, as well as exhibitions of local art and craftsmanship.
