Sisimiut
Cafeteria

Greenland's west coast offers a variety of delicacies. It ranges from deep-sea shrimp and halibut to musk oxen and reindeer. In the cafeteria at Sisimiut Seaman's Home we regularly serve Greenlandic specialties prepared by our skilled kitchen staff. But we also serve ordinary everyday food such as soups, roasts and meatballs. All at family-friendly prices!

In the cafeteria you have the opportunity to enjoy all the meals of the day at family-friendly prices. Here you will meet self-employed traders, fishermen and homeless people as well as the people of the city in general.

We serve traditional everyday food, Greenlandic food, Danish "Smørrebrød", sandwiches as well as a selection of homemade cakes every afternoon and evening. We also have a large salad bar with delicious accessories. If you have children, we also have a play area and high chairs.

Just like in the evening, we also serve hot food daily for dinner. It can be anything from lasagna and Swedish sausage to musk ox and fish frills. We try as far as possible to use the local ingredients, but in many cases this can be difficult as Greenland is not exactly known for its cultivated fields and sheepfolds.

“It is always an exquisite pleasure to bring the children down and eat at the Seamen's Home Cafeteria. The food is delicious, the view is good and then you are always greeted by a warmth of the staff. ” Henrik Jæger

“A long hike in the mountains ended at the Sailor's Home with a meal of musk ox and cake for dessert. Thanks for food!" Pernille Dysager Poulsen
